South Wales Central MS and Former Welsh Conservative Senedd Leader Andrew RT Davies has called for the Vale of Glamorgan Council and other public bodies in Wales to immediately end their relationship with Stonewall, following the UK Supreme Court’s ruling that legal definitions of “man” and “woman” refer to biological sex.

Speaking after meeting women’s rights campaigners outside the Senedd, Mr Davies said concerns were raised about the continued use of Stonewall’s services by the Welsh Government, local authorities and public bodies—despite the group’s extreme stance on gender ideology, which campaigners say is in direct conflict with biological and legal realities.

Mr Davies highlighted that the Vale of Glamorgan Council—within his South Wales Central region—is one of the bodies known to work with Stonewall, and said residents will rightly question whether their money is being well spent.

Mr Davies said:

“Taxpayers in the Vale will be appalled that their council is still funding Stonewall’s extreme agenda.

“The Supreme Court could not be clearer—biological sex is a matter of law, not ideology.

“ It’s time for public bodies in Wales to cut ties with Stonewall and focus on core services.”
