Responding to reports that the Cardiff Capital Region may have to pay millions of pounds in damages after a successful legal challenge over a procurement contract, Andrew RT Davies MS, Senedd Member for South Wales Central and former Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:

“This project falling at the first hurdle spells danger for taxpayers.

“In order to be successful and deliver on the cash already put in, this project will require private sector investment, and this story will not give much confidence to potential investors.

“I am writing to the Auditor General asking him to look into the expenditure on this project, which is particularly important given the limited democratic oversight of the Cardiff Capital Region.”
