I regularly receive “campaign emails” in relation to a variety of topics.
These emails are typically automatically generated. As such, I receive many hundreds if not thousands.
It is therefore not practical for me to respond personally to each of these.
Instead, I publish the response on my website. This can be found below.
Please be assured this policy only applies to automatically generated communications.
If you send me personalised correspondence, on this or any subject, then I will of course respond individually, and address any points raised.

Thank you for writing to me concerning dementia.
Dementia is Britain’s biggest killer, with more people dying of the condition in Wales and England than any other cause. It affects more than 55 million people worldwide and the global health cost is expected to exceed £2.1 trillion by 2030.
At least 42,000 people in Wales are currently living with dementia, with more than 20,000 undiagnosed, and the cost of dementia care in Wales has now reached £2 billion a year, with the number set to rise to as high as £4.5 million by 2040, according to the Alzheimer’s Society, unless urgent action is taken. I am also aware that there is a high demand for places in care homes, yet there are difficulties in recruiting and retaining sufficient staff to care for this demand.
The Welsh Government’s Dementia Action Plan ended in 2022, and whilst I appreciate that the Welsh Government has set out plans to regularly evaluate the Dementia Action Plan, it is important that there is a new up to date plan set out the Welsh Government’s strategic vision for dementia services.
My Welsh Conservative colleagues and I are committed to developing a new dementia delivery plan in Wales in collaboration with stakeholders that will improve dementia patients’ care and treatment whilst supporting their loved ones and promoting research into the disease.
With kind regards,
Andrew

I’m writing to you as a constituent and proud Alzheimer’s Society campaigner, to encourage you to watch a new documentary ‘Anna Richardson: Love, Loss and Dementia’, airing at 10pm, 2 October on Channel 4.
Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. Almost 1 million people in the UK live with the condition, a number which is expected to rise to 1.4 million by 2040.
However, despite these stark statistics, dementia is the health crisis no one wants to face, talk about or acknowledge.
Alzheimer’s Society have worked with Channel 4 on a documentary about dementia, to show how and why it remains the nation’s forgotten crisis, bringing the public behind closed doors to see what the realities of dementia truly are.
As someone directly affected by dementia, you taking the time to watch the programme, live or on demand, and take action to prioritise dementia politically would mean a lot to me. It would help you better understand my reality of dementia.
Additionally, if you would like to share your own dementia story, you can add your voice to [https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.alzheimers.org.uk%2Fget-involved%2Four-campaigns%2Fshare-your-story&data=05%7C02%7CAndrewRT.Davies%40senedd.wales%7C97b405aab5854980916108dcdfbe4d76%7C38dc5129340c45148a044e8ef2771564%7C0%7C0%7C638631255657613972%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=mcc5kfjcX%2FNJc8IZpuDORLGA5IrEzDB1vdtes2%2By2R0%3D&reserved=0]
