Senedd Conservative Leader Andrew RT Davies has welcomed Scottish Conservative Leader Douglas Ross to Wales this week.
The two opposition leaders met to discuss their priorities and aims for the future.
The pair visited Cardiff City Stadium, where they met Chris Martin, Stewards Logistics Officer.
Davies said: “It’s great to be able to come to Wales’ national stadium with Douglas, who is no stranger to the football pitch. Ahead of Cardiff’s game with Luton, the place is buzzing with activity and people putting everything in place for when the 12th man arrives. And speaking of the fans, who make the game what it is, it’s excellent to see the extension of the safe standing provision after my last visit here, when safe standing was being trialled.
“For too long, fans were stigmatised by the law, but now, when people go to cheer on their team, they can stand safely as they do it. Fans overwhelmingly wanted that, and it’s great to see it back.”
Ross said: “Having refereed at other major stadiums across the United Kingdom, I really enjoyed having the chance to visit one of Wales’s most iconic grounds.
“Visiting a stadium before the fans get in gives a different insight into what goes on behind the scenes ahead of a matchday and that was no different at Cardiff City.
“Fans across our United Kingdom are passionate about the beautiful game and it was good to have discussions about how they are looking to improve facilities for fans here in Cardiff.
“Maybe one day I’ll have the opportunity to run the line here like I have at Hampden and Wembley.”
Davies and Ross also visited Abi Reader, Deputy President of NFU Cymru, at her farm in Wenvoe, Vale of Glamorgan.
Davies said: “Farming is such an integral part of the Welsh economy and our rural communities. Douglas shared some of his experiences of agricultural laws in Scotland and some of the challenges farmers faced there, and we shared some of the issues faced here.
“It’s always good to catch up with Abi and the team from NFU Cymru, who do so much to dispel the myths about farming and to show farming for what it really is: Caring for animals, stewardship of our environment and passion for where we live.”
Ross said: “Our farming communities are facing a hugely challenging period so it was good to have the chance to meet directly with Abi Reader the Deputy President of NFU Cymru.
“Many of the challenges facing rural communities in Wales are similar to the ones facing farmers I represent in Moray and the sector across Scotland so it is imperative we share ideas and work together during this difficult period.
“All too often the needs of our farmers and rural areas are ignored by central governments but in both Scotland and Wales, the Conservatives are on your side.”

Davies and Ross also talked to Matt Chorley on Times Radio, and said that radical support measures were required amidst the rise in energy prices.
