In the latest in a summer tour of some of Wales’ finest businesses and charities, Welsh Conservative Senedd Leader has visited Wrexham AFC, Pedal Power and the Welsh Mountain Zoo.
Davies met with Fleur Robinson, CEO of Wrexham AFC, to have a tour of The Racecourse and hear the exciting plans for the new 5,000 capacity Kop stand.
Commenting, the Senedd Tory Leader said:
“Wrexham is a club bursting with excitement and energy. After the restrictions on attending sports events, it’s great to see the bustle here at Wrexham AFC, who are moving from strength to strength.
“There’s no doubt that the new Kop stand will not only add a huge chunk of capacity, but will also be part of the new age of football, where fans are not treated with suspicion and are able to stand safely in stadiums while they cheer on their team.”

Next, Davies visited cycling charity Pedal Power in Wrexham. Based at Alyn Waters Country Park, Pedal Power have a fleet of standard and specialist bikes, hand-cycles, wheelchair bikes and side-by-side bikes, and a traffic free cycle track around the park.
Davies said:
“It’s wonderful what the team at Pedal Power are doing here, providing the equipment and setting for people of all abilities to enjoy cycling in a safe and beautiful environment. The team are passionate about cycling and about making sure that everybody, no matter their ability, can enjoy it.”

Finally, Davies visited the Welsh Mountain Zoo to hear about their business and more recent additions to the zoo, such as the snow leopard.
Davies said:
“The Welsh Mountain Zoo really is one of the finest tourism attractions in Wales, especially for anyone who loves animals and is passionate about conservation.
“The team here are constantly looking to grow their attractions while making sure families who are struggling can afford to come and see the great work they do.”
Davies added:
“As I’ve visited the fantastic businesses, charities and attractions across north Wales, it’s clear that we have a bright future.
“But I am concerned about the impact Labour’s tourism policies would have on our attractions.
“The industry is telling us that a tourism tax would risk livelihoods in Wales.
“Let’s enable our great Welsh businesses, not punish them.”
