Responding to the BMA telling the Welsh Affairs Committee that bureaucracy is preventing Welsh patients accessing care in England, Andrew RT Davies MS, Senedd Member for South Wales Central and former Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:

“This is a classic example of ‘devolve and forget.’

“Welsh residents rely upon treatment in England, but arduous red tape and different systems between England and Wales are preventing timely access to care.

“We must have greater alignment between the English and Welsh health services if we’re going to provide the care Welsh patients have a right to just as much as English patients.”
