South Wales Central Conservative MS Andrew RT Davies has praised the team at Cats Protection, after paying a visit to their Bridgend Adoption Centre.
The Centre works to find new homes for local cats, and covers both the Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan postcodes.
Mr Davies discussed the charity’s work with Centre Manager Katie, which includes support for lost and found cats, and general education and awareness.
Microchipping of cats is not compulsory, unlike for dogs.
Cats Protection argue this would improve cat welfare, and have called for legislation to make the change happen.
Mr Davies said:
“It was a pleasure to visit Cats Protection’s Bridgend adoption centre and to see their work up close.
“The team find new homes for cats in the Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan postcodes, as well as providing additional support.
“I’m exceptionally grateful to Katie and her team for being so generous with their time.”
