Responding to claims from Plaid Cymru separatist leader Rhun ap Iorwerth that immigration is not a “key issue” facing Wales, South Wales Central Conservative MS Andrew RT Davies said the comments “show the true face of Plaid”.
Speaking to the Political Thinking podcast, the separatist leader suggested immigration did not relate to real problems facing voters in their day-to-day lives.
Mr Davies said:
“Significantly reducing immigration is rightly a top priority for the people of Wales – yet Plaid Cymru separatists think we need even more.
“Plaid Cymru separatists support making Wales a Nation of Sanctuary for asylum seekers – and even criticised Keir Starmer for being too tough on border control.
“The separatists are dangerous and out of touch.”
