Commenting on the talks Plaid Cymru separatist leader Rhun ap Iorwerth has held with the Scottish National Party to develop a “progressive alliance”, South Wales Central Conservative MS Andrew RT Davies has slammed Plaid’s “toxic” links with Nicola Sturgeon’s party.
Describing progressivism as a “poisonous” ideology, he said the alliance showed Plaid’s priorities are not those of the people of Wales.
Mr Davies said:
“Plaid Cymru separatists’ decision to embark on a toxic alliance with Nicola Sturgeon’s SNP shows where their motives lie – breaking our nation apart.
“Progressivism is a poisonous ideology, that puts open borders and the rights of criminals before leaders’ duties to keep law abiding people safe.
“The people of Wales want secure borders and good public services, not Plaid’s priorities of 36 more Senedd members and a Nation of Sanctuary for asylum seekers.”
