South Wales Central MS Andrew RT Davies has described the collapse of the Barry Marina project as a “bitter blow” for the town.
Responding to an announcement from Vale of Glamorgan Council leader Lis Burnett that a regeneration project will go ahead without the marina, Mr Davies criticised the Council’s “lack of ambition” for the town.
Mr Davies said:
“The Marina was key to regeneration in Barry, and that’s why the last Conservative Government was committed to delivering it.
“But instead of working to secure investment, the Council have just given up, showing a complete lack of ambition.
“This is the consequence of Plaid and Labour councillors focusing their time on making the Vale a County of Sanctuary for asylum seekers – they’ve taken their eye off the ball and key projects have fallen apart.”
