South Wales Central MS and Former Welsh Conservative Senedd Leader Andrew RT Davies has repeated his calls for Natural Resources Wales to be closed and replaced, after it failed to provide flood defences for at risk residents in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

NRW dismissed calls to build a taller flood wall or buy up at risk houses as “not economically viable”.

Mr Davies said:

“RCT residents have faced unacceptable disruption from flooding and yet again they’ve been let down.

“I’ve long said Natural Resources Wales is too big to exercise all its functions properly, and this demonstrates that once again.

“NRW is not fit for purpose and must be closed and replaced.”
